This year's event, the seventh of its kind to be held at Zagreb's Jarun Lake, helped raise funds for the Pediatric Oncology Department of the "Sisters of Mercy" Hospital.
The funds will be used for the purchase of new equipment.
The annual race is organised in tribute to Terry Fox, a Canadian who died of cancer in 1980 at the age of 22. After losing his leg, he decided to run across Canada to raise money for cancer treatment, calling this run the "Marathon of Hope". Unfortunately, halfway across his condition deteriorated and he died.
The Terry Fox Run has become a traditional event in Canada, and is also organised by Canadian embassies in 67 countries of the world.
