"Shortly after 1900 hours on Monday Branimir Glavas was transferred to the prison hospital on the doctor's recommendation as a precaution because the detainee suffers from diabetes and since he is on a hunger strike his health is at risk," Kresimir Devcic, Zagreb County Court spokesman told Hina.
One of Glavas's lawyers, Ante Madunic, said that the transfer had been requested by the prison governor following consultations with the prison doctor.
The Zagreb County Court is running an investigation into Glavas's alleged role in war crimes committed against Serb civilians in the eastern city of Osijek in the early 1990s.
