ZAGREB, Oct 2 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Monday submitted to EU president Finland and the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU its negotiating position for Chapter 29 "Customs Union", stressing that Croatia is ready
to launch negotiations on this chapter, the Croatian government reported, adding that it did not request permanent exemptions or transitional periods for the implementation of the EU's acquis communautaire from this chapter.
ZAGREB, Oct 2 (Hina) - The Croatian government on Monday submitted
to EU president Finland and the General Secretariat of the Council of the EU
its negotiating position for Chapter 29 "Customs Union", stressing that Croatia
is ready to launch negotiations on this chapter, the Croatian government
reported, adding that it did not request permanent exemptions or transitional
periods for the implementation of the EU's acquis communautaire from this
chapter. Croatia's negotiating position will be distributed as a
document of the Intergovernmental Conference on Croatia's joining the European
Union, the government said in a statement.
The statement said that in the customs union chapter Croatia's
legislation is adjusted to the EU's acquis communautaire to a great extent and
that Croatia would continue the adjustment process.
