He was speaking to the press in the eastern city after attending an election assembly of the HDZ Youth's Osijek-Baranja County branch.
Asked if he felt the Democratic Centre (DC) was behind recent media attacks against him, Seks said DC president Vesna Skare-Ozbolt's demands that he resign as parliament speaker so that possible war crimes in Osijek could be investigated were "a revenge game by a dismissed minister" which he would not comment on further.
Asked why Skare-Ozbolt had been an incompetent justice minister, Seks said the judicial reform had been a failure.
Asked to comment on independent MP Branimir Glavas's statements that the HDZ was trying to break the DC, Seks said he did not intend to comment on Glavas's statements, including the one he made yesterday that Seks should give back his general's rank and Homeland War decorations.
Asked if parliament had received a proposal by the State Prosecutor's Office that Glavas be stripped of immunity, which would make it possible to put him in custody, Seks answered in the negative. Asked to comment on media allegations that this issue was expected to be addressed later this month, Seks said this was a matter for the judiciary and not politics. Glavas is under investigation for war crimes committed in Osijek in 1991.
