Until Wednesday European Commission representatives will be explaining to Croatian and Turkish negotiators the EU legislation pertaining to the energy policy. The goals of the EU power policy are the improvement of competitiveness, ensuring power supply, and protecting the environment. The EU acquis communautaire in this sector also contains rules and directives, primarily those referring to market competition and state subsidies, the national power market, energy efficiency and nuclear energy.
The bilateral stage of screening, when Croatian officials will speak about the level of adjustment of Croatia's legislation to the EU's, will be held from 19 to 21 June.
