"I resign to the post of deputy prime minister. The EU today suspended negotiations on a Stabilisation and Association Agreement because our government, contrary to your explicit promise, had not provided the political conditions necessary for the continuation of the negotiations, thus betraying one of the most important interests of the country and Serbia's citizens," Labus wrote in the resignation he handed PM Vojislav Kostunica.
Labus told the news conference that other ministers from his G17 Plus party would decide whether to remain in the government at a May 13 session of the party's main committee.
Labus said his party would continue to support the government during negotiations on Kosovo.
