Forty-seven deputies from Serbia were in favour and 27 against the law, while 18 deputies from Montenegro were in favour, one was against and two abstained.
The law prevents the fugitives from managing property and money.
Deputies of the Serbian Radical Party, who voted against, were the most critical of the law, while Dusan Ilic of the Democratic Party of Serbia said the adoption of the law was very important in order to show that the state was not behind accused individuals.
The Serbia and Montenegro Assembly has 126 deputies, of whom 91 from Serbia and 35 from Montenegro. The adoption of any decision requires a minimum 46 votes from Serbia and 18 from Montenegro.
