BRUSSELS, May 2 (Hina) - The European Union will have to suspend negotiations with Serbia and Montenegro about the Stabilisation and Association Agreement because the country is not fully cooperating with the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, EU Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn said in Brussels on Tuesday, adding that a formal decision would be adopted after consultation with ICTY Chief Prosecutor Carla del Ponte.

Facts speak for themselves, Ratko Mladic is not in The Hague and according to our information Serbia and Montenegro is not fully cooperating with the Hague tribunal, Rehn said.

This means that we have no other option but to suspend negotiations with Serbia, Rehn said adding that the negotiations could be continued immediately after Serbia shows results in cooperation with the UN war crimes tribunal.

The next round of negotiations on the country's Stabilisation and Association Agreement with the EU is scheduled for 11 May. The decision on the continuation of negotiations will be adopted based on facts, Rehn said, adding that no other political activities would be considered, alluding to a referendum in Montenegro and negotiation on the final status of Kosovo.
