Croatian Deputy Prime Minister Damir Polancec called on Polish business people to invest and participate in the privatisation of Croatian state-owned companies He said that last year's trade, which amounted to 386 million US dollars, was far bellow the possibilities and needs of the two countries.
Polancec presented figures that confirm Croatia's macroeconomic stability. Speaking of Croatia's results in road infrastructure, Polancec said Poland could benefit from Croatia's experience.
He also expressed interest in Poland's experience in shipyard reconstruction, a job that Croatia still had to do. Polancec said that the two countries could cooperate in tourism, small and medium-sized entrepreneurship.
Polish Economy Minister Grzegorz Wozniak praised Croatia's pharmaceutical company Pliva and its successful business activities on the Polish market. Pliva has been present in Poland since 1993 and Croatia's food processing company Podravka has been present on the Polish market since 1990.
Croatia is an important partner for Poland and if it becomes a leader in the region, then automatically the country is important for us, the Polish minister said, calling on the Croatian Government to use Poland's experience in its EU accession talks.
Today's forum was organised by the Croatian Embassy in Poland, the Croatian Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry and the Polish Agency for Information and Foreign Investments.
