Martin underlined that his ministry and its agencies were at the disposal of the Croatian ministry for assistance and suggestions, said Vricko.
Vukelic expressed a wish that Croatia use from the Irish model everything that was applicable to strengthen its own entrepreneurship and economy, Vricko said.
The two ministers agreed a visit by Irish business people to Zagreb by the end of the year to agree concrete forms of cooperation, in which Irish computer and software companies are especially interested, Vricko said, adding that Martin would likely head the delegation.
Economic cooperation between Croatia and Ireland is below the real possibilities, with a modest and sporadic trade taking place via third countries, notably Great Britain. Croatian exports to Ireland in 2005 were USD22 million, while imports amounted to USD105 million.
There is no significant Irish investment in Croatia given that Ireland does not have a trade office in Croatia.
