IMF projects Croatia's economic growth at 4.1 percent this year

WASHINGTON, April 20 (Hina) - The International Monetary Fund has saidthat the Croatian economy is likely to rise by 4.1 percent, just as inthe year before, while 2007 will see a moderate acceleration in theeconomic growth.
WASHINGTON, April 20 (Hina) - The International Monetary Fund has said that the Croatian economy is likely to rise by 4.1 percent, just as in the year before, while 2007 will see a moderate acceleration in the economic growth.

According to the latest semi-annual World Economic Outlook (WEO) which presents the IMF staff's analysis and projections of economic developments at the global level, Croatia registered a real rise in Gross Domestic Product of 4.1. percent in 2005. In 2006, the rise is projected also at 4.1 percent and in 2007 at 4.5 percent.

The IMF expects a decrease in the country's inflation rate measured by consumer prices.

The rise in consumer prices is to fall from 3.3 percent in 2005 to 3.2 percent this year and to 2.5 percent in 2007.
