Jurkovic made this statement on Wednesday after Hina asked him to comment on an article in today's issue of the Vecernji List daily which claimed that the Lika County police had asked Zagreb to send more police to the area of Donji Lapac where an incident happened a few days ago when a group of people provoked and physically attacked a police patrol in a cafe.
Whether the police will send five more officers from Gospic or any other town (in the county) to any other area, including Donji Lapac, is a matter of job organisation, the police chief said.
The daily reported on its front page that "Zagreb is sending reinforcement" after the Lika police asked for help due to "unrest" in Donji Lapac.
Although the police declined to cite in their statement on Monday the ethnic origin of participants in the Donji Lapac incident, some media reported that four young Serb men had attacked the police patrol in the cafe in Donji Lapac in the night between Sunday and Monday.
