Mehun told Hina that the identity of the person thought by the Belgian police and judicial authorities to be Milan Savic was unknown and that the search for Savic continued.
The police in Karlovac said that Milan Savic was one of the 37 war crimes suspects named in a criminal report. Savic is charged with war crimes against civilians and destruction of property unwarranted by military necessity. A Karlovac court has issued an international warrant for his arrest.
French news agency AFP on Thursday quoted Belgian judicial sources as saying that the man thought to be Savic was arrested in Antwerp on Wednesday evening during a routine police check.
