In his message, the dignitary appealed for life, peace, freedom, equal conditions to be applied to everybody in Kosovo, the preservation of Serb values and religious buildings, as well as unimpeded return of Serb refugees both to Kosovo and Croatia.
Pavle said that the Serb Church called on "the state authorities of Croatia to ensure, following its European commitments, the return of Serb refugees and peaceful life and security and safety to returnees".
He also urged Croatia's authorities to offer protection to the clergy, faithful and facilities of the Serb Orthodox Church in Croatia after they had been again targets of attacks, notably those in Dalmatia.
The dignitary also called for "full respect of European values and the international order" and added in his message, a large part of which addressed the issue of Kosovo, that "nobody has the right to change the state and legal status of Kosovo unilaterally, without the consent of all peoples living in Serbia, including the Serb people".
Patriarch Pavle today made his first public appearance after being hospitalised for three weeks due to a hairline fracture of his right pubic bone.
