BELGRADE, Dec 21 (Hina) - The Vojvodina Assembly on Tuesday adopted a conclusion asking the Serbian government to ban all neo-Nazi, racist and clerical-fascist organisations in Serbia.

The parliament of the northern Serbian province will suggest the application of the most severe legal measures against members of such registered and unregistered groups. Under the conclusion adopted with the votes of the ruling democratic coalition after a heated debate, these organisations include Nacionalni Stroj, Krv i Cast, Skinhedi, Rasonalisti, and Obraz.

The Serbian government was asked to ban the activity of the Youth Movement in 64 counties, which was said to insult Serbia's integrity and the national feelings of members of the public, as well as to ban rallies of all World War Two units which had collaborated with or been part of fascist troops and which were said to disturb the public, foment national tensions, and obstruct Serbia's European integration.

The Vojvodina Assembly decided to appeal to the Serbian government after last month 25 members of Nacionalni Stroj (National Machine) crashed a panel discussion at Novi Sad's Faculty of Philosophy, slapping some of those attending and threatening professors and the organisers.

At the parliament session, Vojvodina Social Democrat League leader Nenad Canak harshly criticised Vojislav Seselj's Serbian Radical Party, accusing it of spreading national hatred.

The conclusion will be forwarded to the Serbian government because the Vojvodina authorities have no security jurisdiction in the province.
