SEECP Troika visits Belgrade

ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - Greek Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis, StateSecretary of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and EuropeanIntegration Hido Biscevic and Romanian Deputy Foreign Minister LucianLeustean visited Belgrade on Wednesday in their capacity asrepresentatives of the Southeastern Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP)and met senior officials of Serbia and the state union of Serbia andMontenegro to discuss negotiations on the final status of Kosovo.
ZAGREB, Dec 7 (Hina) - Greek Foreign Minister Petros Molyviatis, State Secretary of the Croatian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Hido Biscevic and Romanian Deputy Foreign Minister Lucian Leustean visited Belgrade on Wednesday in their capacity as representatives of the Southeastern Europe Cooperation Process (SEECP) and met senior officials of Serbia and the state union of Serbia and Montenegro to discuss negotiations on the final status of Kosovo.

After meeting Serbian President Boris Tadic and Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica as well as the state union's Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic, the three SEECP representatives told a news conference it was necessary to exchange opinions on political issues and announced the possibility for the SEECP to assume a constructive role in the talks on Kosovo's final status.

Yesterday, the SEECP troika visited Pristina, where they held talks with top Kosovo officials and international diplomats.

"We shall continue seeking a model that will be in the interest of the countries in the region and underline the importance of cooperation between all countries with the aim of finding the best solution," Minister Molyvalis said.

He added that the SEECP troika supported the positions of the United Nations, the European Union and the Kosovo Contact Group regarding the final status of the UN-administered province.

Draskovic, the Foreign Minister of Serbia-Montenegro, thanked the governments of Greece, Croatia and Romania for their support to defining the final status of Kosovo through dialogue and compromise.
