Ljajic: Mladic's arrest just technical issue

SARAJEVO, Jan 2 (Hina) - Serbia and Montenegro will step up efforts in2006 to arrest Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic,and his arrest is now a technical rather than a political issue, thechairman of the country's national council for cooperation with theHague war crimes tribunal, Rasim Ljajic, said in an interview with theSarajevo newspaper "Dnevni avaz" published on Monday.
SARAJEVO, Jan 2 (Hina) - Serbia and Montenegro will step up efforts in 2006 to arrest Bosnian Serb wartime military commander Ratko Mladic, and his arrest is now a technical rather than a political issue, the chairman of the country's national council for cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal, Rasim Ljajic, said in an interview with the Sarajevo newspaper "Dnevni avaz" published on Monday.

Ljajic announced that a National Security Council would soon be established to coordinate the activities of Serbia and Montenegro's civilian and military intelligence services in locating the fugitive general, who is wanted by the Hague tribunal on war crimes and genocide charges.

Ljajic confirmed that Mladic had been receiving pension benefits in Serbia until November 2005.
