During talks with Kosovo Force commander Roland Kather, Sejdiu said the international community did not have a position on a draft confederation and underlined that it was impossible for Kosovo to abandon its position on independence.
He also said that in the resumption of negotiations, Kosovo representatives would not allow the reopening of a debate on UN mediator Martti Ahtisaari's plan for Kosovo, which has received strong support in the international community, although the solutions from the plan were not included in the Security Council resolution on Kosovo.
Sejdiu applauded UN Secretary-General Ban Ki Moon's insistence on having the process of determining Kosovo's status wrapped up as soon as possible, and reiterated that Kosovo would continue to cooperate with the international community.
