OSIJEK, May 16 (Hina) - Branimir Glavas, who has been in the prison infirmary in Zagreb since 10 May, has been refusing food, medical checkups and medicines for 20 days, the spokesman for the Osijek County Court, Miroslav Rozac said on Wednesday.

Rozac said that earlier in the day, the justice ministry's prison management department reported that another doctor joined the medical team monitoring Glavas's condition, although Glavas is persistent in refusing medicines and does not want to undergo medical examinations.

The new member of the team is internist, dr. Izet Aganovic.

The head of the prison hospital has informed the Osijek County Court that Glavas's mental condition has not significantly changed since 10 May when he was admitted to the infirmary.

According to the spokesman Rozac, a majority of the other six indictees in the war crimes case dubbed as the Sellotape case, who started a hunger strike on 30 April, have discontinued the hunger strike in the meantime.

Rozac said that the Osijek hospital had informed him that the indictee Gordana Getos Magdic, who was admitted to the hospital on 19 March for ileus and who underwent a surgery, was taken back to the prison.

Glavas, a member of parliament, was taken to the Osijek prison on 17 April when the Osijek County Court issued an indictment against him and the other six indictees accusing them of war crimes against civilians.

On 27 April he started a hunger strike to express his dissatisfaction with the work of the court and to protest against the fact that he was not given a provisional release.
