Issues relating to the construction and use of the Peljesac bridge should be resolved by signing a separate protocol, but there is no consensus in the Bosnian government as to what such a document should contain and what kind of document it should be, Ljubic said.
No one in the Council of Ministers denies Croatia the right to connect the southernmost part of its territory with the rest of the country by constructing that bridge, but some ministers want some issues relating to the border in that area to be resolved in parallel with the construction of the bridge, namely they want an agreement on the sea border, he added.
Ljubic stressed that he and most of the ministers believed that the construction of the bridge and the border were not two inseparable issues.
Kalmeta said that preparations for the construction of the bridge were going according to plan and that an initial tender was under preparation. He added that the beginning of the work depended on whether a constructor would be selected in the first round.
Kalmeta said that the bridge would be designed in a special way to provide Bosnia-Herzegovina with unimpeded access to high seas.
