of the death of Josip Broz Tito was held in his native village of Kumrovec,
about 40 kilometres northwest of Zagreb, on Friday. Delegations of
World War II veterans' organisations from Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and
Slovenia and representatives of the Croatian Social Democratic Party (SDP) laid
wreaths and lit candles at the monument raised in tribute to the communist
leader.
The ceremony was organised by the Croatian Alliance of Antifascist
Fighters and Antifascists and Krapina-Zagorje County.
