ZAGREB, May 14 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ), led by party president Ivo Sanader, laid a wreath and lit a candle at the grave of Croatia's first president Franjo Tudjman at Zagreb's Mirogoj cemetery on
Monday, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his birth.
ZAGREB, May 14 (Hina) - A delegation of the Croatian Democratic
Union (HDZ), led by party president Ivo Sanader, laid a wreath and lit a candle
at the grave of Croatia's first president Franjo Tudjman at Zagreb's Mirogoj
cemetery on Monday, on the occasion of the 85th anniversary of his birth. Sanader told reporters that Tudjman was the man who devised the project
of Croatia's independence. Based on the democratic will of the electorate,
Tudjman won a mandate to implement that project, Sanader said.
The HDZ delegation also laid a wreath and lit candles in front of
Tudjman's bust in his birth place Veliko Trgovisce.
A parliamentary delegation laid wreaths and lit candles at Tudjman's
grave.
