"In case of bilateral recognition of Kosovo, Serbia could request legal protection before the international court in The Hague as that would be contrary to the basic principles of sovereignty and integrity of the state as well as to the Helsinki Declaration," Stojkovic told the Narodne Novine newspaper.
He also said it was dangerous to make the settlement of the Kosovo issue conditional on Serbia's accession to the European Union.
"If you are promised EU entry and if you give part of your territory, you no longer know what you are entering (the EU) with," Stojkovic said, adding that this would raise the issue of the Sandzak region and of three southern Serbia municipalities which have requested autonomy.
