The statement was issued two days after eight Serbian NGOs sent an appeal to the EU urging it to maintain the pressure on Serbia to ensure its full cooperation with the Hague war crimes tribunal.
"Continuing talks with the EU as soon as possible, with guarantees from the Serbian government that it will fulfil its obligations towards the tribunal, is of crucial importance for efforts to facilitate European integration and consolidate pro-European forces in the country, as well as successfully implement reforms and democratise society," the NGOs said, withholding their support for the appeal issued on Tuesday.
