The protest was organised by the "Self-Determination" movement, which claims that the plan put forward by the Finnish diplomat was "in agreement with Belgrade's plans" and that it did not suit the political will of the majority of the population of the UN-administered province.
Protesters, carrying banners with slogans against Ahtisaari's plan and Pristina's negotiating team, demanded the release from detention of the movement's leader, Albin Kurti, and other participants in the February 10 protests that had escalated into riots that left two protesters killed and nearly 80 injured.
The "Self-Determination" movement demands outright independence for Kosovo from Serbia.
