It is clear that Bosnia-Herzegovina is becoming safer and safer, the AFP quoted Britain's Minister of State for the Armed Forces Adam Ingram as saying in the British parliament.
More than 600 soldiers, mostly from the Welsh Guards, will return to Great Britain, Ingram said, explaining that the mission of British soldiers, to expire this month, would not be renewed and that the returning troops would not be replaced by new ones.
Fifty-five British soldiers were killed in the 15 years of service in Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Reuters quoted Ingram as saying that the withdrawal of British soldiers was part of plans to cut down EUFOR troops as envisaged by the European Union, which stated on Monday that it would reduce its peacekeeping force in Bosnia in June from 6,000 to 2,500.
