ZAGREB, Feb 7 (Hina) - Croatian Radio Television (HRT) wants to
operate in line with relevant laws and regulations, but it is being portrayed
as a haven for those wishing to make money with little work, and the State
Prosecutor's Office has been requested to decide if an investigation should be
launched, HRT general director Mirko Galic said on Wednesday.
Responding to claims by Party of Rights (HSP) MP Miroslav Rozic that the
national broadcasting company was spending money in a non-transparent manner,
Galic said that the claims were unsubstantiated and urged the State
Prosecutor's Office to launch a probe into HRT's operations.
Croatian Television (HTV) director Marija Nemcic too supported the
proposal to investigate possible irregularities.
Rozic's claims referred to alleged irregularities in payments for
shows produced by other companies and legal fees.
