PRISTINA, Feb 6 (Hina) - The proposal for the final status of
Kosovo by UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari does not express the will of the
province's majority people, leaders of the Albanian movement Self-Determination
said on Tuesday, underlining that Kosovo must autonomously declare
independence and not negotiate with Belgrade. Movement leader Albin
Kurti told the press that what made Kosovo independent was membership of the
United Nations, the military, the defence ministry, and the territorial
integrity, which he said was not mentioned in Ahtisaari's plan.
Kurti criticised Ahtisaari's proposal for dissolving Kosovo's
protection corps, saying this was unacceptable for Albanians.
The movement announced a rally against Ahtisaari's proposal for
Saturday.
