Kosovo's Serbs, unlike the Albanians, have taken part in all Serbian elections to date and are preparing for the January 21 parliamentary ballot to be held in Kosovo as well.
The Serb National Council of Kosovo called on all Serbian citizens on Wednesday to support the political parties which push for European integration processes and for Kosovo to remain part of Serbia.
A statement called on citizens not to vote for parties which are ready "to sell, under the cloak of democracy, not only Kosovo but nearly the whole Serbia".
The UN Mission said it would have no special task during the elections and that its police would carry out its usual activities to maintain peace and order in the province.
