In proportion to the number of deputies, the largest amount of money, 20.3 million kuna, was awarded to the ruling Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ).
The Social Democratic Party (SDP) was allocated 11.1 million kuna, the People's Party (HNS) 3.5 million, the Peasant Party (HSS) 2.8 million, the Party of Rights (HSP) 2.2 million, and the Istrian Democratic Party (IDS) 1.3 million.
The Social Liberal Party (HSLS) received 982,000 kuna, the Pensioners' Party (HSU), the Independent Democratic Serb Party (SDSS) and the Croatian Democratic Assembly of Slavonia and Baranja (HDSSB) 950,000 kuna each, the Democratic Centre (CD) 348,000 kuna, the Democratic Action Party (SDA), the Primorje-Gorski Kotar League (PGS), the Medjimurje Democratic League (MDS) and the Croatian Party of Slavonia and Baranja (SBHS) 316,000 kuna.
Independent deputies and representatives of national minorities were each awarded 316,000 kuna, except Zdenka Cuhnil, representative of the Czech and Slovak minorities, who was allocated 348,000 kuna.
The committee supported the HSP-sponsored amendments to the Political Parties Act, under which registration of a political party would require 5,000 signatures of party members.
HDZ deputy Luka Bebic said that the ruling party and the government agreed with the proposal because it would bring order on the Croatian political scene, which currently features as many as 108 political parties.
