Martincevic told reporters in the parliament that she was surprised to see that media had already carried articles on this report, although it was not yet put on the agenda of the parliamentary Conflict of Interest Commission.
That is why gross mistakes have appeared in those articles, the HDZ MP said, adding that the main reason for reporting Skare-Ozbolt were media reports about Ante Mrdeza having given bribes before the last parliamentary elections for a DC seat in the Sabor.
Martincevic said that the second part of the report regarding "face lifting" was formulated ironically with the purpose of showing that it was unclear what officials should declare in their declarations of assets.
Commenting on the report against her, Skare-Ozbolt said that this was an example of Philistine mentality and a serious attempt to undermine the importance of the Conflict of Interest Commission.
In relation to the DC report that Prime Minister Ivo Sanader might be in conflict of interest for having failed to declare his valuable wrist watches, the DC leader said that it was the media that revealed the case, and she only added up their value.
