BELGRADE, Jan 23 (Hina) - The UN special envoy for Kosovo, Martti
Ahtisaari, has completed his draft solution for the status of Kosovo and will
present it in Vienna on Friday at a meeting of political chiefs for the Balkans
from Contact Group countries' foreign ministries, his spokesman Remi Durlo
told Serbia's Beta news agency on Tuesday. Durlo said the meeting
would take place behind closed doors, after which Ahtisaari would visit
Pristina and Belgrade to officially present the proposal to both sides.
Beta said Durlo could not reveal anything about the content of the
document, reiterating that it would be discussed after presentations in
Belgrade and Pristina.
Asked if last weekend's parliamentary elections in Serbia and the
formation of a new government could result in a decision to postpone the
presentation of the solution for Kosovo's status, Durlo told Beta Ahtisaari
would not wait for the new government to be formed.
