BELGRADE, Jan 17 (Hina) - During her day-long visit to Serbia on Wednesday, Austria's Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik met Serbian President Boris Tadic, Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica and Foreign Minister Vuk Draskovic.

Austria believes in Serbia, it is willing to continue good cooperation and encourage Serbia on the path toward European integration processes, the Austrian minister told a news conference in Belgrade.

She added that it was important that Serbian authorities and people were committed to integration with Europe.

President Tadic said that Serbia's European prospects were extremely important and that his country was facing many challenges including cooperation with the Hague-based UN war crimes tribunal and negotiations on the future status of Kosovo.

"We count on support from Austria, which is a strong partner and a friend of Serbia," Tadic said describing bilateral relations as very good.

After the talks in Belgrade, Plassnik travelled to Novi Sad where she and the Vojvodina government's chairman, Bojan Pajtic, signed an agreement on an Austrian donation of five million euros for the economic development of this northern province.
