At the same time, the leading politicians in the country resumed talks in an attempt to bring their positions closer ahead of a meeting with European Enlargement Commissioner Stefan Fuele.
The CoE committee monitoring respect of commitments by member states adopted at a session in Paris on Friday, attended by Bosnian parliamentarians, a draft resolution to suspend the Bosnian parliamentary delegation from the CoE if the Sejdic-Finci ruling is not enforced by the 2014 parliamentary election in Bosnia.
The draft resolution, which the CoE Parliamentary Assembly will discuss in October, recommends that the CoE Committee of Ministers consider the possibility of suspending Bosnia's membership.
Enforcement of the ruling has stalled because it envisages the possibility that national minorities run for the highest state offices and insists on regulating the election of the state leadership and the upper house so as to avoid the possibility of the more numerous peoples electing the representatives of the smaller peoples.
