From June to December 1992, Saric was the commander of a Bosnian Serb police station in the Sarajevo area, planning and carrying out the mass persecution of non-Serbs.
Hundreds of people were driven out of their homes and some were forcibly detained in a psychiatric hospital turned into a prison. Some prisoners were killed and their bodies were exhumed after the 1992-95 war.
Saric may appeal the sentence.
