Many players were absent following Thursday's trade dinner in Hamburg and business was further hampered by a local holiday in Indonesia and the Thanksgiving Day holiday in the U.S. yesterday. "Its Friday a lot people are not about and Chicago is only having a short session, so people are calling it a day," said one trader. At 1600 GMT Dutch soy oil sellers were 1.50 guilders down to unchanged while rape oil was 0.50 guilders higher to 1.50 guilders lower. Traders said the market did not react to the higher opening in Chicago mainly due to the lack of participation. Only two trades were reported in soft oils when Feb/Apr traded at 122.25 guilders in soy and rape oil. Crude palm oil prices drifted lower during the afternoon to end $2.50 down to unchanged. Refined palm oil sellers were unchanged to $2.50 lower. Coconut oil prices dipped during the afternoon with offers $5 to $7.50 down after Jan/Feb traded at $607.50 and Feb/Mar at $615 and $617.50 a tonne cif.
