Today's March options expiry had no effect on the market, traders said. The March contract closed 0.13 higher at 74.58 cents, having ranged from 74.90 to 74.30 cents. The back months settled 0.40 to 0.14 firmer. Volume estimated at 5,200 lots compared with 5,282 lots on Thursday. Amid a dearth of news, players hope Wednesday's U.S. Department of Agriculture report will provide impetus for prices to break out of their recent trading range between 73.00 cents and 75.25 cents, basis March.
