Fine 70s super types were quoted up two pence per kg and the opposite end of the quality spectrum saw 50s carded up three pence, with most of those in between remaining unchanged. Trade sources said the mosaic of bullish and bearish indicators made a clear price trend difficult to discern and kept serious buyers back from the market. A few sources reported greater inquiry due to currency-related cost increases on the horizon for certain local firms. 241136 MET jan 97
