ZAGREB, Dec 2 (Hina) - First days of the implementation of the
agreement on security of the UN humanitarian and other operations
signed in Geneva on 29 November by all the three sides in Bosnia-
Herzegovina show that the document has been mainly respected, said
UN Force Commander Gen. Jean Cot at today's press conference in
Zagreb.
Gen. Cot said that 11 attacks at UN vehicles and members in Bosnia
were registered on Wednesday only. The attacks were launched by the
elements which are out of the control of military commands of the
three sides. He said that the UN forces, in conformity with the
agreement, will withstand the elements out of the control and their
attacks, which he called banditism.
The situation in UNPAs in Croatia is relatively stable, except
Sector South. Small arms fire was registered in the areas of
Smilcici, Novigrad and Maslenica (Sector South), said Gen. Cot.
Gen. Cot expressed his belief that local ceasefire agreements
could be a good preparation for a global ceasefire agreement
between the Croatian and Serb sides in Croatia.
