CROATIAN ART HISTORIANS PROTEST AT PULLING DOWN OF MOSTAR'S OLD BRIDGE

ZAGREB, Nov 26 (Hina) - The presidency of the Society of Art Historians of Croatia on Friday issued a protest at the barbaric act of pulling down the Old Bridge in Mostar. The Old Bridge virtually linked the two banks and symbolically - as a monument of Islamic civilization in the Christian surroundings, as Hajrudin's project executed by masters from Korcula - it linked two cultural circles and proved a possibility of co-existence of different faiths and nations in the region. The monument of communication fell victim to intolerance and hatred," stressed the protest.
