ZAGREB, Aug 1 (Hina) - The United States Ambassador to Croatia,
Peter Galbraith, said in an interview with the Zagreb-based weekly
'Danas' which is due to come out on Tuesday that pressure would be
exerted on the Bosnian Serbs until they said 'yes' to the peace
plan drawn up by the five-nation Contact Group on Bosnia-
Herzegovina or until the situation on the ground changed.
Galbraith said the Serbs could end up getting less than what
was offered at the negotiating table. He reiterated that the United
States supported Bosnia-Herzegovina within its existing
international borders and that it would not allow its division or
annexation to Serbia.
Asked why the resolution of the UNPA problem in Croatia was
linked to the final settlement of the Bosnian crisis, Galbraith
replied it was hard to find a solution to the UNPAs in Croatia
until the situation in Bosnia did not calm down.
The U.S. ambasssdor underlined that UN-imposed sanctions
against Serbia would not be lifted before the resolution of the
UNPA problem in Croatia.
