CROATIA'S PARLIAMENT URGES PROBE INTO AMMUNITION DEPOT BLAST

ZAGREB, April 8 (Hina) - The Croatian Parliament's House of Representatives urged the internal affairs and national security committee to add to the agenda yesterday's ammunition depot blast in the Zagreb suburb of Sesvete, and to investigate the case. Voting on the issue was preceded by brief reports by MPs. A Croatian Social Liberal Party (HSLS) representative said his bench did not insist on a vote of non-confidence in Defence Minister Gojko Susak at this session of the House, suggesting it be done according to the Constitution and the rules of procedure. The HSLS bench proposed a special session of the House of Representatives should be held in no later than 15 days to discuss the situation in the Defence Ministry and the Croatian Army. The motion was seconded by the Croatian National Party (HNS), the Social Deomocratic Party (SDP) and the Istrian Democratic Assembly (IDS). Parliament Speaker Stjepan Mesic asked that a request for such a session be handed in writing so that this proposal could be forwarded to the Government and included in the parliamentary procedure. Deputy Prime Minister Vladimir Seks said the Government was not evading responsibility, and urged that facts must be established before discussion on political responsibility. 081430 MET apr 94
