SARAJEVO, May 29 (Hina) - Radio-operators in UNPROFOR headquarters
in Sarajevo this morning managed to get in contact with UNPROFOR
officials who are being detained on some of heavy-weapon collection
sites around Sarajevo.
UNPROFOR officials who were on these sites, said the tension
had subsided to some extent, UNPROFOR spokesman Guy Vinnet said.
Bosnian Serbs were in control of all heavy-weapon collection
sites around Sarajevo and held 325 UNPROFOR officials prisoner. A
part of the officials, at least 17 of them, were still being used
as human shields, Vinnet said.
During the last night, Bosnian Serbs fired around ten mortar
shells at the Bosnian army defence lines on the Zuc Hill, north of
the city centre.
Six shells were fired on the suburb of Butmir, but so far
there have been no reports on consequences of these attacks,
according to UN military observers.
