ZAGREB, April 13 (Hina) - UN peackeepers have discovered that rebel
Serb forces have six new antiaircraft guns in the Vukovar area in
eastern Croatia.
UN military spokesman Col. Walt Natynczyk told reporters in
Zagreb today that six 40mm antiaircraft guns and 26 Serb troops
were spotted on April 11 during a military exercise at the Borovo
airfield near Vukovar. The UN did not know where the weapons had
come from.
He stressed that there were weapons in Croatia and Bosnia-
Herzegovina which had never been put on UN lists.
Natynczyk said the antiaircraft guns had been registered and
were now kept in a UN warehouse.
UN peackeepers had earlier found six unlisted tanks in the
Serb-occupied Baranja region bordering on Serbia. The tanks were
also put in a UN warehouse.
Commenting on the presence of Serb combat aircraft at the
Udbina airfield in former UN Sector South, Natynczyk said this was
not a problem because there was no flight ban over Croatia.
But this would be a problem if those planes engaged in combat
actions over the ceasefire zone, he added.
