KARLOVAC, April 11 (Hina) - Croatian Defence Minister Gojko Susak
today visited Karlovac where he met city and county authorities.
Susak told reporters after the talks that President Franjo
Tudjman had passed a decision on demobilizing 30,000 soldiers.
The Karlovac area would be given priority because of the
difficult economic situation, with lots of companies asking for
workers to return to their jobs.
"We'll demobilize our men but this will not reduce our
combat readiness," Susak said.
It was agreed that the Defence Ministry would finance the
construction of 110 apartments in the Karlovac area. The building
of 56 apartments has already started in Karlovac while some
apartments would be built in Ogulin.
