ZAGREB, March 31 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian government
office for refugees and displaced persons, Minister Adalbert Rebic,
today held a press conference where he presented three agreements
the prime ministers of Croatia and Bosnia-Herzegovina signed in
Zagreb on March 24.
The first agreement deals with the return of refugees to
Bosnia-Herzegovina, and Rebic said it was based on international
law. He added that the governments of Croatia and Bosnia-
Herzegovina would cooperate with the UN High Commissioner for
Refugees and other international organizations to implement the
agreement.
The second agreement envisages the abolishing of visa
requirements for citizens of the Bosnian Federation and Croatia. It
says that they can cross the border and stay on the territory of
the other country up to 90 days without visas, Rebic said.
The third agreement is a protocol on entering or transist of
Bosnia-Herzegovina citizens through Croatia which specifies that
refugees from war-affected areas of Bosnia-Herzegovina can enter
and travel through Croatia only with permits previously obtained
from the Croatian government office for refugees.
Rebic said that Croatian internally displaced people were
given empty houses for temporary use.
