ZAGREB, March 23 (Hina) - The head of the Croatian Government
Office for Displaced Persons and Refugees, Adalbert Rebic, today
received the Italian ambassador to Zagreb, Paolo Pensa, the Office
said.
Rebic and Pensa signed a letter of intent on the Italian
Government helping Croatia with a sum of seven billion Italian
liras earmarked for the care of displaced people and refugees.
The money will be spent through programmes of the UN High
Commissioner for Refugees and the Italian non-government
humanitarian agency FICROSS, as well as through the FAO for the
return of displaced people to the Zadar and Sibenik areas (southern
Croatia), and for maintianing refugee centres in Croatia.
Rebic thanked Pensa for the Italian government's help with
displaced people and refugees in Croatia.
