ZUBAK, GANIC HOLD PRESS CONFERENCE

ZAGREB, March 7 (Hina) - Bosnian Federation President, Kremisir Zubak, and Vice-President Ejup Ganic, this morning held a press conference at Zagreb airport following yesterday's agreement on military cooperation between Croatia and Bosnia. "The agreement on military cooperation between the Bosnian army, the HVO (Croatian Defence Council) and the Croatian army will help achieve a balance of powers and force the Serb aggressors to accept the international peace plan for Bosnia" Ganic said. He specified that the agreement, which was "reached but not signed," provided for coordination between "otherwise independent headquarters." Zubak said the two sides had arranged a plan for synchronised action in case of renewed Serb attacks. "If the aggressors launch an offensive and there is a resurgence of conflict in Croatia, the conflict will probably spill over to Bosnia, and we must be prepared for that eventuality," Zubak said. "The agreement on military cooperation will have a positive impact on the political level, particularly now that the common enemy is trying to provoke a conflict between the Bosnian army and the HVO," Zubak said. "The unity between Croatia and Bosnia is firm and there will be no more clashes between the Bosnian army and HVO," Zubak stressed. Ganic said that a Bosnian Federation delegation was to travel to Bonn, Germany, to discuss the possibilities for speeding up the implementation of the Federation with German and US Government representatives. They will also discuss certain contentious issues. "The building of the Federation is progressing, although there are certain problems in separating the authorities of the Federation and that of the Republic of Bosnia-Herzegovina," Ganic said.
