ZAGREB, Feb 28 (Hina) - The Croatian Foreign Ministry today issued
a statement of the english version of the Croatian Foreign Minister
Mate Granic's address to the 51st UN Human Rights Commission
session on Monday in Geneva.
The statement said that the media had made use of an
'unauthorized' final version of Granic speech.
The Croatian News Agency (HINA) also quoted some of Granic's
speech but please note the following which is the 'authorized'
version of the speech:
"Croatia is already working on a new model. This model - which
is going to be presented in due time - should have the following
key elements: a) safe, orderly and dignified withdrawal of UNPROFOR
personnel, b) exerting all efforts to prevent the eruption of wider
hostilities in the area while providing for definite developments
towards the peaceful re-integration of the occupied territories
into the legal system of Croatia (by securing the internationally
recognized borders of Croatia and monitoring the implementation of
the existing agreements), c) continuation of the functioning of
UNPROFOR operations in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the territory of
Croatia, which extends the offer for the use of locations for the
headquarters and logistical basis on its territory.
