ZAGREB, Jan 4 (Hina) - Croatia's chief negotiator Hrvoje Sarinic
this afternoon met Knin Serb leader Borislav Mikelic at the
UNPROFOR base at Zagreb airport.
Present were the Co-chairmen of the Peace Conference on Former
Yugoslavia, Lord Owen and Thorvald Stultenberg.
"Our goal today is to achieve progres in the implementation of
all aspects of the Dec 2 Economic Agreement and then, in the light
of the results achieved, decide when to start political talks,"
Lord Owen said.
He said political dialogue would be much easier to conduct in
the afterglow of successfully resolved economic problems in
Croatia's UN Protected Areas.
Today's talks - which are still underway - were to deal
primarily with the transport of generators to the Obrovac power
plant, in line with the Dec 2 Agreement .
